In the studio

People have been asking been asking for the last...three or four years...”When are you going to record a proper album?”

The answer was always, “When I can afford it.”

Well, I still can’t afford it, but that hasn’t stopped me. Elisee, Babush, Elad and I have been working with Or Bahir (of Eatliz fame) on a yet untitled studio album.

Or has instilled some much needed discipline, and it’s starting to show. In any case we are on schedule to finish recording by late April. We look to have something ready by summer.

Playing Jerusalem

Last night, Elad and I played the Stardust in Jerusalem. The weather got downright nasty and it got rainier and colder than most of the town wanted to deal with. The bar was nearly empty when we started, but then...that’s the nice thing about a small bar.

By the third or fourth song, the bar was full of people. It was the first time Elad and I had played just by ourselves in a really long time, so I was really worried it would sound awful without Elisee and Babush. Worse still, Babush was there in the audience, so it was a bit awkward. It WAS a bit rough, but I think we put up a decent show.

Long after the show, they cut the lights out, lowered a screen over the bar and screened Woody Allen’s “Take the Money and Run,” which I stayed for. I really dig the Stardust and I think Elad and I are definitely up to going back. The whole band will be in Jerusalem on February 20th, when will play at Gula.

Tomorrow, Elad won’t be joining me for a show at Beit HaBira in Tel Aviv (Allenby 46) but I WILL be joined by the very talented Adam Bricks and Jered Victor Masters (of Ruby Ruby Ruse).
